چکیده

Cell adhesion is an active process, carried out in vivo via receptor ligand-like interactions between cell surface adhesion molecules and the extracellular matrix. Initial cell surface reactions following contact may trigger multiple responses, which in turn result in either spreading or detachment of the cell. The set of adhesion and attachment molecules mediating the adhesive behaviour of stem cells and the kinetics of their interactions are as yet largely unknown. In this paper we have investigated the attachment and spreading kinetics of human embryonal carcinoma stem cells (TERA2.sp12) onto the planar Si(Ti)O2 waveguides, and covered with poly-L-lysine (PLL) or mucin, acting as substrata for the cells.

Dehydroepiandroesteron increased proliferation of neural progenitor cells derived from p19 embryonal carcinoma stem cells.

Introduction: The p19 line of embryonal carcinoma cells develops into neurons, astroglia and fibroblasts after aggregation and exposure to retinoic acid (RA). Dehydroepiandroesteron (DHEA) is a neurosteroid, can increase proliferation of human neural stem cell (NSC) and positively regulated the number of neurons produced. This study was initiated to assess the effect of DHEA on neural progenito...

P-88: Comparing Epigenetic Profile of Oct4 Regulatory Region in Embryonal Carcinoma Cells under Retinoic Acid Induction

Background: Embryonal carcinoma (EC) cells derived from germ cell tumors are valuable tools for investigating differentiation and developmental biology processes in vitro. The advantage of the reproducible and rapid expansion of these cell lines provides a useful alternative to embryos for the study of mammalian cell differentiation. During early stages of cell differentiation, the rate of tran...

Vitronectin production by human yolk sac carcinoma cells resembling parietal endoderm.

Normal mesenchymal cells, normal epithelial cells and many transformed epithelial cells require serum attachment factors and extracellular matrix proteins for growth and differentiation in vitro, and recent evidence strongly supports a role for extracellular matrix molecules in the regulation of cell movement in vivo during early embryogenesis. We previously described the isolation and characte...

Optical monitoring of stem cell-substratum interactions.

Modulation of the coupling of light into a waveguide via a grating, together with a novel approach to analyzing the data, is used to investigate the attachment of human embryonal carcinoma stem cells to three substrata: silica-titania (representative of artificial implants); poly-lysine (a commonly used laboratory cell culture substrate); and mucin (the coating of the mucosae). By considering b...

مهار بیان ژن GFP به وسیله تداخل RNA (RNAi) در دودمان سلولی کارسینومای جنینی P19

Introduction: RNA interference (RNAi) is a phenomenon of gene silencing that uses double-stranded RNA (dsRNA), specifically inhibits gene expression by degrading mRNA efficiently. The mediators of degradation are 21- to 23-nt small interfering RNAs (siRNA). The use of siRNAs as inhibitors of gene expression has been shown to be an effective way of studying gene function in mammalian cells.  Ai...
